Let me die like
an abandoned building:
rocks thrown through
my windows like eyes
pecked out
by buzzards,
paint peels
in curly skin pieces
blown away in
dandelion fluff,
wood siding falls
in heaps of ribs
bleaching in sunlight,
sunken roof splinters
inward as if a black Angus cow
stepped on my skull
on her way to the creek,
rubble overgrown in grass
waving on the knoll.
